Welcome to my blog!

My name is Astrid (Asti), and I’m originally from a small town in Austria. I love travelling and have been on 2 long round the world trips. Every year, I try to take one holiday to a new, exotic destination.

My addiction to travelling was born about 13 years ago when I spent my exchange semester in Malaysia. About a month before the end of the exchange I realized that I just had not taken the chance to see enough – in the incredible region where I had been staying! I still had some time left, so I embarked on my first backpacking adventure ever – 3 weeks through Thailand, together with my sister who was visiting at that time. This is when I realized how amazing it is to be on the road, gather new impressions and just go with the flow.

After finishing my studies and working for a couple of years, I went on a round the world tour from 2012-2013 for 20 months, which I have written about on this blog. From Central America to South America and South East Asia to Australia I went on adventures and discovered new places.

After the trip, it was back to working life and „normal holidays“ for a couple of years – until I went on my 2nd trip around the world in 2018-19. I island-hopped through the South Pacific, trekked and travelled through some more parts of South America and explored some countries of Africa.
