Exploring Antwerp & trying to do gymnastics

My first trip from Amsterdam brought me to Belgium in January, to Antwerp and Sint-Niklaas to be precise. Mathijs had a training weekend from his trampoline group in Sint-Niklaas and I was able to join and see Antwerp on the way. Since I had wanted to see Antwerp for a while, it was a great opportunity!

Antwerp is mainly known for the Cathedral of our Lady which was indeed very pretty – but on the other hand not too different to other cathedrals I had seen before in my life 😉

Otherwise, the city is quite pretty and has many
nice buildings and cute little houses. We walked through the little alleys and explored the different corners of the city without much of a plan and despite the ice cold wind.

Since it was not only nice, but also ice cold, we then walked along the shopping street from one shop to the next, to always warm up a bit in between. The street was also quite pretty by itself.

In the evening we then went to Sint-Niklaas – for Mathijs it was training time and I relaxed in the hotel. Afterwards we had dinner and partied with the rest of the group until the early morning hours… which meant sleeping in the next day before making our way to the training facility. Mathijs talked me into trying a couple of things there and it was actually quite fun! 🙂 You can find all pictures of the weekend here.
