A short while ago, I spent another weekend in Noord-Holland. As always, I wanted to see a little bit of the country, together with Mathijs.
On our first day we went to Haarlem for a couple of hours – a beautiful town approximately at the same height as Amsterdam in the East of Noord-Holland.
Once again, the city impressed me especially with its cute little houses. I already know the Dutch architecture by now, but I’m definitely not sick of it yet 🙂

We also visited a wind mill which is located quite centrally in Haarlem. It’s renovated and therefore doesn’t have as much charm anymore, but on the other hand you have a great view over the city from the viewing platform.

Next day we drove to Volendam, on the West coast of Noord-Holland. It’s just a little village, but very touristy. The setting is quite pretty with a little harbour and the houses – once again – very cute 🙂

Here I finally forced myself to try the typical Dutch haring. Uaaaghhh…! I should not have done that. I guess I will stick with kroket or kaas-soufflé!
Here you can see all my pictures of Noord-Holland.
